Our current mental model for disasters is that they are infrequent, isolated events. They happen. We pick ourselves up. We return to life as it was before. Isolated disasters have become a confluence of catastrophes. Ecological, socioeconomic, political disasters pummel us. From a systems view, they are indicators of a way of life that is dying - power over, domination and control, unlimited resource extraction. Within this destruction is the opportunity to author new stories about how we want to live in this planet. This is called Re-Storying Disaster.
